Geocodio Website Refresh: New Design, Same Tools, Same People
What’s the Same
Before we get into what’s new, we want to start with what’s the same: the product functionality. Your login works, your API keys work, your workflows work.
It's the same reliable geocoder you know and love. It just looks better now.
Same login, same credentials. The login page is at the same URL. Your password works. Your API keys work. Nothing to rotate, nothing to re-authenticate, nothing to flag for your IT team.
Same API, same endpoints, same docs. Our API is the same, and your integrations are safe. (Our API Docs did get a visual refresh, though.)
Same dashboard functionality. Uploads, maps, API usage, and billing are all in the same places as before.
Same company, same owners, same team. Geocodio is still 100% independently owned by the same two founders who started it twelve years ago. No acquisition, no investor, no new terms of service. Same people, new wardrobe.
What's New
A Cleaner, More Consistent Design
We updated the design across the public-facing website and dashboard. Navigation is simpler, information hierarchy is clearer, and finding what you need should take fewer clicks.
Plus, we’ve gotten rid of the garish red banners. 🎊
A Redesigned Spreadsheet Upload Flow
We’ve also redesigned the spreadsheet upload flow. The steps are the same. We’ve just broken it into a multi-page layout where there’s a bit more space for everything, such as selecting data appends.

Why?
We’ve spent most of the last twelve years focused on the geocoding engine and our core product. We've improved speed and accuracy, added data appends, shipped a distance API, and processed over 166 billion addresses. Last year, we completed a major engine upgrade that more than doubled processing speed.
We've always put a lot of care into UX and ease of use. Visual design, on the other hand... let's just say we're led by an engineer and a product person who struggle with stick figures and have to think for a moment about what you get when you combine primary colors. And it showed.
So we brought in a team of designers and a copywriter to help us close the gap between what Geocodio does and what it looks like. We wanted a site that reflected the enthusiasm we have for doing this work and who we do it for.
