Geocodio allows you to turn US, Canadian, Mexican and UK addresses into latitude/longitude coordinates (geocoding) and latitude/longitude coordinates into addresses (reverse geocoding) via API and spreadsheet upload. You can also calculate typical driving time and driving distance from sets or matrices of addresses.
Addresses will be spelling corrected, parsed, completed and standardized, and a stable address key will be included in case you need to de-duplicate addresses.
You can also enrich your location data with Census data such as FIPS codes, Congressional Districts/ridings, timezones, and more.
What is geocoding?
Geocoding is the process of converting addresses to latitude and longitude coordinates (i.e. GPS coordinates) so that a computer can understand them. Computers do not understand addresses; they only understand coordinate pairs. Reverse geocoding, similarly, is the process of converting latitude/longitude pairs into addresses so humans can read them.
Geocodio can:
Convert US, Canadian, Mexican and UK addresses to latitude/longitude, or
Convert US, Canadian, Mexican, and UK latitude/longitude to approximate addresses
Geocodio can also clean, standardize, and complete addresses, including:
Address parsing (i.e. splitting an address into street, city, state/province, postal code, and country)
Address standardization
Address spelling correction
Address completion
Add counties
Add stable address keys so you can de-duplicate addresses

What can you do with Geocodio?
In addition to geocoding, reverse geocoding, and address cleanup, Geocodio can add more data to your addresses or coordinates at the same time. Pick the data appends you want in Step 3 when you geocode a spreadsheet, or add them to the fields parameter in an API request.

Some data appends need a full street address or coordinates, and some also work with a ZIP code or city. The Data Enrichment Overview shows which inputs each append supports.
Political district appends include OCD IDs where available. UK district appends also include GSS codes, the official UK government identifiers. UK data appends require a Flex plan or a UK-enabled Unlimited plan.
Distance calculations are available via the API only, and they use credits separately from geocoding. See the Distance API Overview for endpoints, limits, and pricing.
