FFIEC Append Updated to 2026 Dataset
What’s Changed in the FFIEC Append?
We've updated our FFIEC data append from the 2025 FFIEC Census dataset to the 2026 dataset. All FFIEC lookups, through the API or Spreadsheet Uploader, now return 2026 data by default.
The 2026 FFIEC Census flat file was released by the FFIEC on July 9, 2026.
A helpful note this time around: the 2026 dataset uses the same Census tract boundaries as the 2025 dataset. The FFIEC's own tract list confirms the 2026 tract list is identical to the 2025 list. So unlike some past refreshes, your addresses will map to the same Census tracts as before. The data attached to those tracts has been updated. If you want the full picture of what changed between releases, consult the FFIEC's documentation.
Updated FFIEC Data
With this year’s release, there were no changes to tract boundaries, yet the FFIEC has updated income and demographic figures.
For teams doing HMDA, CRA, or other fair lending work, that means your enriched results line up with the 2026 data, including current:
MSA/MD median family incomes
Income level designations
CRA distressed/underserved tract criteria
Plus the rest of the FFIEC fields.
Valuable data beyond fair lending compliance: real estate, nonprofit, and more
This data can be helpful beyond fair lending compliance. Because the income level classification sorts every US Census tract into a low/moderate/middle/upper bucket, it doubles as a quick read on the economic profile of any neighborhood, with no calculations on your part.
A real estate team can gauge income levels across a market
A nonprofit can point resources toward lower-income areas
A health researcher can group geographies by economic profile without needing to build a classification from scratch.
How to Get the 2026 FFIEC Data
No changes are needed on your end, as the FFIEC data append automatically returns 2026 data going forward.
API
Just include ffiec in the fields parameter of your API request.
Spreadsheet upload
Select "FFIEC CRA/HMDA Data" in Step 2 (Data Appends) of the spreadsheet upload process.
