What you can do with Geocodio
Geocodio allows you to turn US, Canadian, Mexican and UK addresses into latitude/longitude coordinates (geocoding) and latitude/longitude coordinates into addresses (reverse geocoding). Addresses will be spelling corrected, parsed, and standardized. You can also enrich your location data with Census data such as FIPS codes, Congressional Districts/ridings, timezones, and more.
Geocoding is the process of converting addresses to latitude and longitude coordinates (i.e. GPS coordinates) so that a computer can understand them. Computers do not understand addresses; they only understand coordinate pairs. Reverse geocoding, similarly, is the process of converting latitude/longitude pairs into addresses so humans can read them.
Geocodio can:
Convert US, Canadian, Mexican and UK addresses to latitude/longitude, or
Convert US, Canadian, Mexican, and UK latitude/longitude to approximate addresses
Geocodio can also clean, standardize, and complete addresses, including:
Address parsing (i.e. splitting an address into street, city, state/province, postal code, and country)
Address standardization
Address spelling correction
Address completion
Add counties
