Canadian legislative districts (ridings), Canadian Census data, and major improvements to accuracy in Canada

We've made some major improvements to our data for Canada, including significantly improved accuracy, and the ability to return ridings and data from StatCan

1. Accuracy Improvements

We've added more underlying source datasets and made improvements to how we parse Canadian addresses. These improvements have led to a 96% increase in high-accuracy results. Now, given a random sample (more specifically: a list of all Tim Horton's locations), 84% of results will come back rooftop or range interpolated, versus 70% before.

Table showing data of geocoding accuracy in Canada: 96% increase in high accuracy results, 68% decrease in range interpolated, 20% decrease in low-accuracy

2. Add Ridings to Addresses or Coordinates

You can now add Canadian electoral districts (ridings) to addresses or coordinates via spreadsheet upload and API.

Data returned includes:

  • Riding number
  • English riding name
  • French riding name

3. Add Canadian Census Boundaries from StatCan to Addresses or Coordinates
